Case: China Southern
Chinese airlines uniforms (in general and in my opinion) tend to look like a costume with all the cliches about a flight attendant. Pompous bows, old fashion prints and boring colors. Navy blue, dark blue, white and burgundy are the norm.
China Southern is based in Guangzhou, an important industrial city. The airline is also the launch customer of the Airbus A380 in China.
My design for China Southern uniforms is based on the idea of transmiting a more gentle and delicate image, using a soft palette of Peach, Coral and Bright red. The scarves have a combination of Sachet Pink and soft Salmon. The pants, skirts and winter coat have all different shades of grey. The aprons have different colors depending on the class.
Pursers have jackets and vests in sachet Pink color.
Flight attendants and ground staff in cherry tomato red.
Pants and skirts for both are in charcoal grey.
winter coats in medium grey, charcoal collar and belt and interior lining in sachet pink.
Shoes in charcoal grey or black.
Scarves have a degrade motif in rose petal color and dark pink.
Pursers, flight attendants and ground staff have the option of long sleeve or short sleeve jacket and vest.
Shirts (long and short sleeves) are in blush rose color.
