Israir

Israir is a small Israeli airline, mainly dedicated to charter flights, although it has permission to fly to New York JFK and Miami.
My idea was to create a comfortable, practical and eye catching uniform. A simple combination of sky blue and orange. Both colors give a young appearance and are less used than a navy blue and red. The pockets have a detail that resembles part of a Star of David (Which is also the airline's logo).
Aprons have a geometrical pattern similar to paint strokes in sky blue, grey, teal and mint.

Case: Aerolineas Argentinas remastered

I'm re-doing the Aerolineas Argentinas uniform. My original idea was to create something classic and elegant. This time I'm shifting towards something more modern (still elegant) and incorporating more tones of blue. This are the two basic uniforms. The left is for flight attendants and the right is for airport/offices staff.

I'm working on a summer dress, winter coats, aprons and mid-season ensambles.

I'm still working on Aerolineas Argentinas uniform. So far this is just a sketch.

Case: Aerolineas Argentinas

The argentinian airline, now state-owned, is in the middle of a major transformation. After decades of  uncertainty under the management of Iberia and later Grupo Marsans, Aerolineas Argentinas is showing some improvements.
The airline replaced its ageing fleet of 737-500 for Boeing 737-700 and 800NG, Airbus A340-300 and Embraer 190 for its sister company Austral.
It also became the newest member (and so far the only south american) in the SkyTeam alliance.
Besides all of this the airline is still strugling with unions and is trying to make a profit.

The airline introduced a new uniform in 2012. I'm not against the designer, but although the colors are alright (navy blue and grey), the design is quite basic.
Argentinians tend to be seen by most latin americans as elegant, educated and more europeanized than other countries in the region.
So for that reason I decided to give Aerolineas a sophisticated look with some argentinian details. The colors are horizon blue and grey.
I designed an ultra feminine uniform, without compromising practicity and comfort.
The scarves have a traditional motif from Buenos Aires called "fileteado", in a dark grey background with details in red, orange, yellow, teal, green and blue.

Case: China Southern

Chinese airlines uniforms (in general and in my opinion) tend to look like a costume with all the cliches about a flight attendant. Pompous bows, old fashion prints and boring colors. Navy blue, dark blue, white and burgundy  are the norm.
China Southern is based in Guangzhou, an important industrial city. The airline is also the launch customer of the Airbus A380 in China.

My design for China Southern uniforms is based on the idea of transmiting a more gentle and delicate image, using a soft palette of Peach, Coral and Bright red. The scarves have a combination of Sachet Pink and soft Salmon. The pants, skirts and winter coat have all different shades of grey. The aprons have different colors depending on the class.

Pursers have jackets and vests in sachet Pink color.
Flight attendants and ground staff in cherry tomato red.
Pants and skirts for both are in charcoal grey.
winter coats in medium grey, charcoal collar and belt and interior lining in sachet pink.
Shoes in charcoal grey or black.
Scarves have a degrade motif in rose petal color and dark pink.
Pursers, flight attendants and ground staff have the option of long sleeve or short sleeve jacket and vest.
Shirts (long and short sleeves) are in blush rose color.
